----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hilary is a very special young woman; she is my husband’s cousin.  I’ve known Hilary since she was a teenager so being selected to photograph her wedding was a great honor.  Joel, Hilary’s fiancé, is in the Navy and together they had been living in Hawaii (lucky I know!), so it was funny they had a winter wonderland themed wedding! With a blizzard arrive the day before; a winter wonderland theme was exactly what they got!!

Joel and Hilary were married on December 30, 2012 in Salem, Massachusetts at the Waterfront Hotel and Spa. Everything was so perfectly executed- from the sparkling centerpieces, to the snowflakes on the cake and dance floor to the beautiful white muff Hilary adorned.  Okay I cant keep blabbing and not share a slew of photos…enjoy!

Hilary and Joel decided to do a first look, which is one of my new favorite things, since their weddings I've done two more, including a no-look first look!

Hilary & Joel-
Thank you for choosing nlbCreative to photograph your beautiful day, we had such an emotion filled exciting day!  Hills- you were the most beautiful bride of all, all your planning was beyond perfect.  Joel- your dress blues and well-fitted Gucci suit showed what a dapper gentleman you are!

Whattttttt: J*

I'm still in shock that I was able to meet a Jasmine Star (J*) She is a real, honest to goodness, down to earth, well spoken, inspiring woman.  The photography industry is over saturated, she acknowledges this and instead of competing with one another, she encourages photographers working together.

I'm so lucky I'm able to work with my best friend, to not only bounce ideas off of, to look to for support and most importantly- to work towards a goal of going full time together.  Lucky doesn't even come close to covering it!

This is the best friend and I bursting at the seams with excitement as we got to hug her, embarrass ourselves by confessing our love for her and smiling so big I can't believe my eyes are still open!

Best friend and I headed out to Boston Monday afternoon via train! We had inteded to leave in the morning, but somehow we missed the first train because we didn't account for traffic.  We're girls and we were too busy swapping bags, cut us some slack. ok.  Once we realized we were missing the first train,  we were quickly relieved that there was a second train shortly after.  We found the train station (after a few K Turns, and re-routing via GPS)  but to our luck...there was not a single parking spot, we circled the city avoiding one ways and guiding around a rotary. We parked in the very.last.spot in the lot, in the most shady space ever.  Awesome!  We make our way towards the train station dock .....Janna asks "Is the train moving?" Yes...yes it was. and that my friends...was the second train.

Third train-- wouldn't be here for an hour in a half. That gave us enough time to figure out the paying for parking puzzle, grab a diet coke from a bakery where no one spoke english but us.  The hope for as grab some tea, the language barrier kinda-sorta stressed us and diet coke is our safety net.  We also had time to catch some city rays of sun, gossip, plan our lives verbally, swig diet coke and make sure we were more than ready to get on that third train!

We made it into the back bay on a sunny, warm day wearing our flip flops and back packs we were on our way!   We walked. and walked. and walked.  without a plan other than lunch and pinkberry.  We had the most amazing salads, while sitting outside in the sun, people watching and enjoying glasses of wine!  We made our way towards the crowd outside of pinkberry...umm Boston Pinkberry has salted caramel yogurt. Whatt! I know!!! Deliishshh!!!

Once we realized it was time to head over to J* we fired up the handy-dandy GPS and turned around a few times to get back on track!  Walked past the venue hoping we'd be able to find a place to change our clothes!  Well.....we ended up in the not so best of an area.  Walked past the venue again, finding ourselves in a bathroom stall of a pizza place...together changing for the event!

We arrived to the event, refreshed, and bursting with more excitment than Christmas morning!!!!

Meeting Jasmine was more inspiring than anything I've ever experienced.  I left thinking of a plan of action to make my business better for you, and for myself.  I left that seminar with a rekindled spirit to make this happen full time, and because of all your kind words, love, referrals and support, I am one step closer.  My dreams are becoming a reality and sometimes I can't sleep at night because I'm so excited and happy at how fast and far my business has grown!!!!!

J* will always be my role model.  J* will always inspire me to "make mistakes and find ways to make them right".

Janna, thank you for being my partner in crime on this crazy ride!
